Jasprit Bumrah Injury Update

Jasprit Bumrah Injury Update: Although he has rejoined the squad, it’s unlikely that he will take part in the game, having only just returned from a lengthy injury layoff. Bumrah had been sidelined with a back injury sustained during the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Sydney earlier this year. Following medical advice from the BCCI team, he was instructed to rest for five weeks beginning in early January. As a result, he missed the home white-ball series against England and was also unavailable for the Champions Trophy campaign. After undergoing back surgery, he began his rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

Over the past few weeks, the 31-year-old has been steadily increasing his bowling workload in preparation for a full return. It was only after clearing his final fitness assessments and getting the go-ahead from the BCCI medical team that he linked up with the Mumbai Indians squad.

Mumbai announced his return on Sunday in a Games of Thrones-themed video posted on Instagram, captioned: "Ready to roar."

In the video, Bumrah's wife, Sanjana Ganesan, is seen telling his son Angad, “In 2013, there was a cub who entered the jungle. A jungle full of runs and sixes and boundaries. Where everyone was scared, he showed courage. Over the years, he fought many battles. He fought for survival and for pride. He won and lost, but never gave up. These battles left him with scars, but these cars did not ruin him. Once a cub, now a lion. The lion is back. He is back to be the king of the jungle again.”

Coming to his team, MI need Jasprit Bumrah fully fit as soon as possible. They have lost 3 out of the 4 matches played so far this season. The team has given opportunities to new faces like Satyanarayana Raju, Vignesh Puthur, and Ashwani Kumar in absence of Bumrah.
