Shardul Thakur ruled out of Ranji Trophy 2023-24 for 2 weeks due to injury. All-rounder Shardul Thakur has been ruled out of Mumbai's second match in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 against Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram from January 19 due to the ankle injury he reportedly sustained during India's tour of South Africa. 

 Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Shardul Thakur on Thursday smashed his highest score in IPL. Batting at number seven, the 31-year-old scored 68 runs off 29 deliveries against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He hit nine fours and three sixes in his knock.

  He has proven his mettle with the bat and can be quite useful with the bat if and when needed. He has a wide array of shots and can be a useful asset down the batting order. Thakur is an equally aggressive right-arm pacer who usually bowls at more than 140 km/h and has clocked the highest speed of 148 km/h.

 He got the moniker “Lord” after strong show in the 2022 Johannesburg Test against South Africa. Shardul bagged his maiden 5-wicket haul and ended with 8 wickets in the match. Soon “Lord Shardul” started trending on social media. Shardul shone with his all-round performance during the 2021 Test series against England.
